Terms of use

The rules between Rihla and the agencies, guides and riads who build their website with it. Written to be read: if something is unclear, ask us.

1. What Rihla is

Rihla (Morocco) offers a tool to build and host the website of a travel agency, guide or riad: tours, destinations, a place to stay, trip requests and, if the owner switches it on, deposits paid with PayPal. In these terms, “we” is Rihla, and “you” is the person or business who creates a site.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and allowed to run your business.
  • The details you give (name, email, phone, WhatsApp) must be true. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account.
  • You can download a copy of your content and delete your site or your account at any time, from Admin → Account.

3. Your content

Your texts, photos, prices and tours stay yours. You allow us to store them, show them on your site and make the copies needed to run it (for example backups and smaller versions of photos). We do not use your content for anything else.

You promise that you have the right to publish what you put on your site, and that it is true and lawful. In particular, do not:

  • publish photos or texts you do not have the right to use;
  • sell trips you cannot deliver, or give false prices or false reviews;
  • use the site for anything illegal, misleading or harmful, or to send spam.

Example texts and photos offered when you start are there to help. Replace or remove them before you publish; you are responsible for what your published site says.

4. Your travellers and their data

When a traveller sends a request or books on your site, their details (name, email, phone, dates, message) are stored for you. You are responsible for this data: you collect it and you answer it. We only store it and send the emails on your behalf, as described in our Privacy policy.

We promise to:

  • never use, sell, rent or share your travellers’ data, and never contact them for ourselves;
  • use it only to run your site: store it, show it to you in your admin, and send the emails you expect;
  • keep it safe, visible only to the members of your agency;
  • delete it when you delete it, or when you delete your site;
  • tell you without delay if it is ever exposed by a security problem.

You promise to use your travellers’ data only to answer them and organise their trip, and to follow the data protection law that applies to you (in Morocco, law 09-08).

5. Bookings and payments

Deposits are paid by the traveller directly to your PayPal account. We are not a travel agency and not part of the contract between you and your traveller: the trip, its price, cancellations and refunds are between you and them, under the terms you show before payment. PayPal’s own fees and rules apply.

6. Price

Rihla is free during its beta. Before any paid plan starts, we will tell you the price by email at least 30 days ahead; you will be free to leave and take your content with you.

7. The service

  • We work to keep your site online and safe, but we cannot promise it will never stop or never have a mistake.
  • We may improve or change features. If we stop the service, we will warn you at least 60 days ahead so you can download your content.
  • We may suspend a site that breaks these terms, after warning you when we can, or at once if it harms travellers or other people.

8. Responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from your trips, your content, your dealings with travellers, PayPal, or a service being unavailable for a while. Nothing here limits rights the law gives you that cannot be limited.

9. Changes and law

If we change these terms in an important way, we will tell you by email before the change applies. These terms are governed by the law of Morocco; we will always try to settle a disagreement by talking first.
