For those who travel slowly

You look for people, not sights. For a meal in a village house, a night with no light but the stars, a guide who knows the families on the trail. We plan journeys for that instinct, at your pace, from the Atlas to the dunes.

Who will guide you

Youssef Ait Brahim

Founder and mountain guide

I was born in Aroumd, the village above Imlil, and I have walked these paths since I could carry water for my mother. Guiding is how I share the valley with people who want to understand it, not just photograph it.
Experience
Guiding in the High Atlas since 2012, and in the Sahara since 2016
Languages
Tamazight, Arabic, French, English
Qualifications
Certified mountain guide, First-aid trained
How we guide
I plan every day around the people on the trip: their pace, what they want to see and what they eat. Safety comes first in the mountains, and I would always rather turn back than take a risk.

Why travel with us

What you get from a local guide that you would not get planning the trip alone.

  1. The stone and earth houses of Aroumd stacked on a hillside

The routes, the families who host you and the timing of each day come from someone who knows them, not from a booking platform.

  2. Hikers on the trail below the snow-capped Toubkal massif

Dates, pace, length and where you sleep are agreed with you before you travel. Nothing is fixed until you are happy with it.

  3. A hiker resting at the summit of Toubkal, 4,167 m

Trips run in small groups or privately, so meals are shared at a family table and walks go at the pace of the people on them.

  4. Clay tagines cooking over an open fire

Lunch in a village house, bread from a clay oven, tagines cooked over charcoal. Eating with people is part of every program.

  5. The stone Toubkal refuge below the summit ridge

You know what is included, what to bring and how each day runs before you pay a deposit, and you can reach us during the trip.
